FAQ’s

Seta™ solid surface is produced from natural minerals (approximately 70%) with the remainder premium resins and pigments formed into sheets.

Seta™ White and Snow Storm are ‘pure acrylic’ colours, using only acrylic resin, which is important for whites, as you wont see any discolouration over time. Also, the pure acrylic sheets have slightly more flexibility in that they can be thermoformed (heated and moulded for different shapes) by a professional solid surface fabricator.

Other colours are ‘modified acrylic’ with additional pigments, depending on the final requirements for the design/pattern.

The fabrication and safety recommendations are the same for all Seta™ sheet.

Seta™ solid surface does not contain crystalline silica, the key ingredient in engineered and quartz stone which is the leading cause of silicosis. Seta™ is an extremely safe material to work with and to have in the home, providing a non-toxic, durable and hygienic benchtop surface.

Seta™ can be purchased by industry professionals.

For homeowners, Seta™ benchtops can be purchased through quality cabinetmakers across Australia.

The Seta™ material has a 10 year residential warranty.

Yes, Seta™ has great heat resistance. As with all materials we recommend a heatproof mat be placed down under a boiling saucepan or tray straight from the oven as extreme heat may discolour the surface.

As a non-porous and homogenous material, Seta™ is easy to look after and maintain. An everyday clean with a soft cloth or non-scratch scourer and soapy water is ideal. Stains can be cleaned off the surface easily using a non-scratch scourer and for very stubborn marks, use a diluted lightly abrasive cleaning product.

Seta™ Benchtops are renewable and repairable, so if the surface is damaged or a chip occurs, the benchtop can generally be restored to its original condition.

Some blemishes or basic surface damage can be renewed by a person with good, fundamental skills using sanding tools. For more significant chips or damage, a solid surface fabricator may be required.

Yes, Seta™ can be used with a cooktop in the benchtop and with freestanding ovens/cookers as well.

Yes, Seta™ can be used for splashbacks behind cooktops. There are of course minimum clearances and particular attention needs to be paid to gas cooktops as they have an open flame.

Electric and induction cooktops must be a minimum of 60mm from the splash-back, and for gas cooktops a minimum of 200mm from the edge of the gas burner to the splash-back is required.
